The World Is Thinking

Each time it’s a mistake, the air
pouring down the mountain and
catching. Each time with less

 

warning. Sometimes the clouds get
stuck all afternoon and time
melts. This was really happening.

 

It’s almost like the world is thinking
it over, as though blue was not
sufficient. Unsettling in its tension.

 

The solution has something to do
with water. Everything has something
to do with water, that and night.

 

The young girl fell to the bottom of the pool. She
tried to swallow all the water to the surface.
